The film directed by Navdeep Singh, also starring Neil Bhoopalam and Darhshan Kumaar in pivotal roles. The film premieres today, let's what this story has in store for us.
Story:
NH10 history revolves around the life of a modern marriage, Meera (Anushka Sharma) and Arjun (Neil Bhoopalam), to go on a weekend getaway on the outskirts of the city. On the way, they witness a married couple being beaten and dragged by the brother of the bride (Darshan Kumaar). Seeing the couple being tortured, Arjun intervenes only to be insulted himself. How hurt the ego, Arjun decides to follow the thugs and ends up witnessing the married couple being brutally murdered.
Seeing Arjun and Meera, bullies decide to kill two of them too. While Arjun is injured, Meera is pursued through the highway and village.Does the couple gets out alive of this situation? Forms rest of the story.
Positives:
Picking a concept of honor killings that still exists just outside the city limits, the director Navdeep Singh cleverly handles with an important issue and disgusting and pointless leading to such brutal cases patriarchy.
Half of his work was done in step script itself. Let's get to the proceedings. Being his first attemp production Anushka Sharma gives his best shot to prove himself. The intense vulnerability and conviction ger character carries the film to another level. Whether it's horrifying scenes spilling blood or emotional parts, Anushka makes every effort to give their best.
Neil Bhoopalam provides pretty decent support. Darshan Kumaar, who previously was seen playing an innocent man in Mary Kom, shows excellent Satbir transformation as ruthless in it. Deepti Naval can be seen in a cameo and manages to leave its impact.
Negatives:
Despite a strong concept and story, the film has some gaps. The part where Arjun decides to pursue the thugs even after being accompanied by his wife and risking the lives of both is incredible.
While the first half is attractive and nail biting, the second half has been dragged in the beginning. Another thing that is negative for the film are the action scenes, which are much more violent and macabre as expected and therefore sometimes appear creepy too.
Neil does not have the skill of being a male protagonist of the film. He is nothing compared with Anushka and someone more experienced could have done wonders for the film.
Technical aspects:
In the narrative of the film is gripping enough, Navdeep added in the pursuit of cat and mouse between protogonists to keep further compromised. The film was shot in a very realistic way, which makes the audience connect with each and every scene.
Another good part of the movie is that there are songs like that may have acted as a disturbance in the interesting script. The climax but could have been much better. The duration of the film is enough for viewers to participate in the film and also do not get bored.
Verdict:
Overall, NH10 is a strong message and showcad in a very realistic way. Anushka excellent performance and a thrilling story makes this film definitely a must see.
